Figure yardage using cut size (rather than default finished size)
The Yardage Calculator default is FINISHED size for piece length and width. That is because most patterns and kits give the finished size in their instructions.
Before yardage is calculated the Yardage Calculator adds Seam Allowance to the piece dimensions. Then it uses it's calculation of CUT size to figure the yardage.
To use the Calculator to figure yardage for CUT size, simply set the Seam Allowance to zero and the Yardage Calculator will use the dimensions as entered to figure the yardage.
The examples below show how a change to the seam allowance affects the piece cut size shown on the cutting diagram:
